Hello all, I am getting back into playing Warhammer 40k for the first time since 3rd ed. I am planning on pre ordering the rule book at Meta early next week. I have been an active painter for many years and that tends to be my primary focus of the hobby.

I was wondering what the local meta was like in the springfield area. Alot of power gamers or fluff bunnies? I remember pissing some people off back in third because I would bring my fluffly list and they wanted to play against a power list. Just curios what you thoughts were on the subject.

It's a good mix. On pickup games Just be clear your expectations. The tournament scean can get competitive so I would build to play hard

I will try. Going to start looking for pick up games in july after I have had a chance to learn the rules again. Do most people play at Meta Games? I used to be friends with the owner of Hobbytown in Ozark but he closed a long time ago.
