Tomahawc CotH2012 Pre-Q

ok guys, this is the first Tomahawc sanctioned warhammer 40K tournament.

here are the details:

2000points (single force org, none of this 6 vendetta/4 chickens of change/ 6 long fang silliness. At least not in this tournament)
Allies and fortifications OK!

Saturday, Aug 25

6th ed rules

3 rounds, 2hr 15mins each.

1hr lunch brake after round 1.

doors open for registIation at 9:30 AM.

the goal of tomahawc is to provide more tournaments for our gaming community. Unfortunately these events are not supported by GW, so to provide support for this event there will be a $10 entry fee at the door.

all prise support for this event is based on attendants.

along with the first place prize the winner of this event will be awarded a complamenty ticket to CotH2012. (if the player already has a ticket, they may pass the ticket to another player or choose to have their original ticket refunded instead)

Question, how WYSIWYG is this Tournament? All my weapons are good but I never thought I would want to take melta bombs until now, do I need to find a way to get my hands on some?

Sign me up my kid will also want to play so add him too. Komo if you want to add a few more tables I have 6 tables and terrain for pretty much all of them if you are interested.

My wife and I are thinking we'll be out to play.

we try to keep it as WYSIWYG as possible, but i don't think anyone is going to complain if you don't have every little grenade modeled on your guy. it would be nice if it was there, but its not like your using a lascannon as a multi melta proc. as long as your opponent is very clear that it is on the guy, i don't see it as a problem.

now with this said, i'm not giving a open license for whatever goes. armor and weapons need to be modeled properly. Melta bombs are a bit of a grey area. they were equipment in 5th, but are now weapons in 6th. i feel its only natural to give some slack on this one, at least until everyone can get all there modals updated.

you can always check the 10 cent bit bin in meta to find some.

Would anyone mind if I used terminators that were modeled with Storm Bolters in 1 hand and a lighting claw in the other but they only have the normal power fist? As long as my opponent knew they didnt have lighting claws would it be ok?

"counts as" is a huge gray area. the easiest way to rule this it to just sent me some pics before the event.

Do we need to have army lists in for approval for this tournament? If so, by what date?

Not a requirement to have army lists to us ahead of time.

I think I am going to have to bow out for this tournament. I have some other stuff going on this weekend and I can't promise I will be able to make it. If it seems like I am going to have the time open, I will show up and hope there is an open spot at that time. Thanks
